Dancing the night away for people in need

UnitingCare West’s second Christmas in July Dinner Dance Gala event was held in the Government House Ballroom last Friday 22 July.

189Themed in the style of a Victorian Christmas the sold out event was huge success! A choir greeted the 220 guests outside the supper room to create a wintery Christmas atmosphere. The guests were then led upstairs to the Government House ballroom for an enchanted evening.

Many thanks to our Silver Sponsor, 100 St Georges Terrace and Corporate Table Sponsor, BDR Projects for their contributions to the event. Perth businessman Rick Hart and his partner Lesa Hinchliffe were the Masters of Ceremony, while the Governor of Western Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC attended as the Patron for the event.

There was a dazzling performance by Perth’s popular 17-piece Metro Big Band, as well as spectacular dancing from Humphrey Dance Studio. Scotch College and Methodist Ladies College (MLC) both added to the atmosphere of the evening with bagpipe and string quartet performances.

Funds were raised via live and silent auctions during the event. Including a painting by Australian artist Greg Baker. The donations received from the event will be distributed to those who are most in need in the West Australian community.
