Disability Awareness Week 2016

Disability Awareness Week this year is running from 27 November to 3 December. This includes the United Nations sanctioned International Day of People with Disability, held each year on 3 December.

Events and activities will be held throughout the week to raise awareness about the importance of having welcoming and inclusive communities that facilitate citizenship, mutual support and a fair go for everyone.

UnitingCare West has services across the whole organisation that work alongside people with disabilities. Our programs listed below all work with people with disabilities with differing support requirements.

Staff and volunteers at UnitingCare West walk alongside individuals accessing our services and the people that they trust, to help them access what they need to enjoy life.

A list of services designed specifically for people with disabilities can be found here.

If you know someone who is looking for a disability service provider you can let them know that UnitingCare West is a registered NDIS organisation. (NDIS - National Disability Insurance Scheme)

You can contact our team on 9380 9427 or email yourlife@unitingcarewest.org.au. Our friendly, trained staff will be happy to help you.

Let’s celebrate a Western Australia where all people live in welcoming communities that facilitate citizenship, friendship, mutual support and a fair go for everyone. Justice, hope and opportunity for all!
