Pathways to the future - Abilities Expo

During September Community Inclusion hosted a stall at the Abilities Expo promoting UnitingCare West programs and services across the directorate.

The annual Abilities Expo is for people with a disability, their families and carers to learn more about services and supports in the community.

Visitors can hear guest speakers, enjoy performances and take part in interactive workshops that focus on skill-building for employment and inclusion-focused interactions, in addition to meeting with many of WA’s disability service providers.

This year’s Expo welcomed the Disabilities Services Commission on board as a major partner in the event. Current partners Public, Catholic and Independent schools were also strong contributors to the Abilities Expo.

The UnitingCare West stall looked great with new posters, pictures and men in sheds projects being displayed.

Two participants Kevin and Ian attended promoting the Men In Sheds program as well as the two open days being held at Girrawheen and Willetton in October.

Thanks to all the staff who worked hard on the day setting up, promoting the services and packing away at the end of the long day.
