Young Soroptimists Support UCW

The Young Soroptimists at The University of Notre Dame Australia recently held a bake sale to raise money for UnitingCare West’s Wyn Carr Women’s Services

The passionate students aimed to raise awareness around domestic violence. They held an event called 'Let's Talk About Domestic Violence' and also ran a cake stall which raised $484 for the Wyn Carr women’s.

Thank you to the Young Soroptimists and their volunteers for thinking of us and educating others on domestic violence.

FYI...  did you know that the name Soroptimist was coined from the Latin ‘soror’ meaning sister, and ‘optima’ meaning best. Soroptimist is perhaps best interpreted as 'the best for women'. They Young Soroptimists are affiliated with Soroptimist International which is a global movement that is changing the lives of women and girls around the world.
