Senior Case Worker - Futures (12 months Fixed Term Contract)

  • Salary $65,468.03 + 9. 5% super + 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
  • Eligible for salary packaging up to $18,490 per year

The Futures service provides long-term disability and therapeutic foster care options and intensive case management to children and young people who can’t remain in the care of their own families. The service is based on the belief that the needs of all children, including those with a disability are generally best met in a family environment. Recruitment, assessment and training of new carers are also key aspects of the role.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment and assessment of new or potential foster carers and placement establishment.
  • Case management skills and experience in working with vulnerable children and young people, including planning, coordination and leading in child centred casework practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply an understanding of the theoretical principles and underpinnings of working with children and families engaged in child protection and out of home care services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of disability services, theories and practice relating to child development.
  • Highly developed communication skills in all areas of communicating with children and families, and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop networks and foster working relationships with other key service providers.

The successful applicant will have a relevant degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline and have experience working in the child protection and disability sector.  A current driver’s license, National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check are essential for this position.
